Jr. Mechanic

Role & responsibilities

1. To assist in operating and maintenance of different mechanical/ electronics instruments available

in the laboratory.

2. To assist students working in the laboratory with steel fabrication (welding, cutting, lathe, drilling,

milling), casting, testing for experiments.

Preferred candidate profile

Applicants with following set of essential qualification(s) and mandatory experience can apply for one

position of Jr. Mechanic post :

3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience of two years after the diploma.

OR

ITI in appropriate trade with relevant experience of five years after the ITI certificate.

OR

Bachelor's degree (other than B.Tech./ B.E.) in Instrumentation/ Electronics discipline.

Desirable skills :

Work experience in fabrication workshop and/ or research and teaching laboratory for at least 5 years. Additional knowledge of Instrumentation/ Electronics instruments will be preferred.

Pay Level 3 (21700-69100)/ Pay Level 4 (25500-81100) as per provisions of Recruitment Rules and Promotion Policy of the Institute. Initial appointment on a 3-year contract at Pay Level 3(21700-69100). Subsequent substantive appointment at Level 4 (25500-81100) by placement.
