Jr. Mechanic

Role & responsibilities a) To assist in operating PLC/ SCADA based large beam centrifuge equipment available in the Institute, a) Provide day to day support to maintenance issues for ensuring smooth sunning of centrifuge equipment, c) Provide day to day support for maintaining various equipment accessories/ transducers and d) to assist students working in the laboratory.

Preferred candidate profile

Applicants with following set of essential qualification(s) and mandatory experience can apply for one position of Jr. Mechanic post :

3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical in appropriate discipline with relevant experience of two years after the diploma.

OR

ITI in Electrical Engineering/ Industrial Automation/ Mechanical Engineering trade with relevant experience of five years after the ITI certificate.

OR

Bachelor's degree (other than B.Tech./ B.E.) in Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Desirable Skills :

3-years experience in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance in Government Department/ Autonomous body/ Private Sector Organizations of repute with Automation Industry Environment.

Desired to have National Council on Vocational Training in Electrical Engineering/ Industrial Automation/ Mechanical Engineering Trade.

Potential candidates must be familiar with :

a) Electrical and Mechanical maintenance of Power and Control systems, b) SCADA [Supervisory

Control and Data Acquisition] automation, c) Programmable Logic Control (PLC) system, and d) DC

drive control.

Pay Level 3 (21700-69100)/ Pay Level 4 (25500-81100) as per provisions of Recruitment Rules and Promotion Policy of the Institute. Initial appointment on a 3-year contract at Pay Level 3 (21700-69100). Subsequent substantive appointment at Level 4 (25500-81100) by placement
