Supplier Quality Engineer - Special processes

Role & responsibilities

1. Assess potential suppliers' capabilities in welding, NDT, heat treatment and pickling

passivation.

2. Conduct audits and evaluations to ensure suppliers meet required standards and

specifications.

3. Collaborate with the procurement team to select and qualify new suppliers.

4. Provide technical guidance to suppliers on welding, NDT, heat treatment aid

pickling passivation processes.

5. Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, WEG, manufacturing, and

procurement, to address supplier-related quality concerns.

6. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in supplier quality and
performance.

7. Work with suppliers to implement best practices and advanced quality techniques.

8. Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives related to supplier quality

issues.

Good knowledge of welding process like

GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW etc.

First-hand experience in creating and

reviewing WPS-PQR and WPQR.

Expertise in NDT processes (VT, PT, MT,

RT, UT), heat treatment, and pickling

passivation processes for sand and

investment castings, as well as forgings, is required.

Strong knowledge of industry standards

like ASME, ASTM, AWS, ISO, EN related

to materials, welding, NDT, Heat

Treatment, and pickling passivation

processes.

Familiar with NORSOK requirements.

Must be able to train supplier for issues

related to Welding, NDT, Heat

Treatment, and pickling passivation.

Understanding technical drawings &

documents.

Qualification

. Welding certification (CWI / CSWIP) or

equivalent certification.

. NDT Level II or Ill certification.
