Linux Administrator/Support Engineer

Job Overview

Olatech Solutions Ltd. is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Network Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support for our network infrastructure while maintaining and managing Linux-based systems, MariaDB databases, and SQL operations. This role demands a blend of problem-solving, hands-on technical skills, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for network systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on servers and workstations.
• Set up, manage, and optimize MariaDB databases to support business operations.
• Write, debug, and optimize SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, resolving connectivity and performance issues.
• Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard data and systems.
• Document network configurations, support processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address system integration and performance issues.
• Provide training and support to end-users on network-related topics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in a Network Support Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux OS installation, configuration, and administration.
• Experience with MariaDB database setup, management, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in SQL and query optimization.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, ping, traceroute).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
