Sr Engineer

Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Structural Steel Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and analysis of steel connections and various steel structures, while also managing projects and collaborating with other engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Structural Analysis & Design: Perform structural analysis and design of steel connections and members, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Coordination with Design & Detailing Teams: Coordinate closely with the in-house design team and the detailing team to ensure the design intent is effectively translated into detailed drawings and fabrication plans.
• Advanced Project Delivery (APD): Lead and prepare Advanced Project Delivery (APD) and connection design projects, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Design of Miscellaneous Items: Perform member and connection design for various miscellaneous items as part of steel structure projects.
• Engineering Reports & Calculations: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, calculation sheets, and other relevant documentation for design approval and quality assurance.
• Supervision of Engineering Team: Manage and supervise the work of other engineers involved in connection and member design, ensuring efficient workflow and the production of high-quality designs.
• Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements, provide design updates, and address any queries related to the steel design and connection design processes.
• Software Utilization: Use connection/member design software and other structural engineering tools to develop and optimize designs.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelors/Masters in Structural or Civil Engineering (BE/B Tech in Structural/Civil Engineering).
• Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in structural design, particularly steel structure and connection design.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with AISC and other relevant designing/detailing codes.
• Familiarity with ASD (Allowable Stress Design) and LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) design methodologies.
• Experience with connection and member design software, as well as structural analysis tools.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical details clearly to clients and team members.
• Leadership & Supervision: Proven ability to manage and supervise the work of junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Advanced Project Delivery (APD) and managing project timelines.
• Familiarity with additional structural design codes and standards.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling or detailing software (e.g., Tekla)
• Previous experience in client-facing roles, handling client relationships and project expectations.
