The firm is strengthening its team by recruiting a Managing Associate within the Trademarks and Copyrights division on retainership basis.
A Managing Associate generally manages a team of associates comprising several Associates and Senior Associates and reports to a Partner.
Broad outline of responsibilities of the Retainer are as follows:
1. Drafting and vetting Agreements including Co-Existence Agreements and Franchisee Agreements
2. Drafting and Serving Cease and Desist Letters and other Demand Letters
3. Writing opinions on Legal matters pertaining to Trademarks and Copyrights
4. Conducting Trademark Research activities including:
a. Registerability Search
b. Infringement Search
c. Trademark Watch for Oppositions
5. Drafting Trademark Specifications
6. Drafting Statement of Oppositions and Counter statements for Trademark Oppositions
7. Preparing Trademark Infringement Related reports
8. Filing Trademark Applications under Madrid Protocol and responding to examination reports therefor
9. Handling Trademark Enforcement Proceedings inside and outside of India
10. Attending Trademark Hearings
11. Filing Copyright Applications
12. Drafting responses to Objections raised by Trademark Registry and Copyright Office
13. Correspondence with Potential Clients or leads in India and Overseas
14. Coordinating with Overseas Associates
15. Setting up processes and procedures and attending Conferences in India and Overseas
16. Managing domain name dispute and associated arbitration
17. Custom Recordal of Trademarks inside and outside of India
18. Filing Applications for Registration of Well Known Trademarks in India
Requirements
Experience
Candidate must have at least 5+ Years of relevant Experience in order qualify for Interview call for this position. A relevant Experience means Experience gained while working in a Law Firm or as a In-House Trademark Counsel. Experience gained while Teaching in a Academic Institution will not be counted for the purpose of this position.
Qualification
The Candidate should be qualified to practice law in India. That means Candidate should possess LL.B Degree and must be registered with Bar Council of India. An LL.M degree with specialization in IPR will have additional advantage during the selection process.
