1. POSITION VACANT: Specialist - Instructional Design (CPD), Language and Learning Foundation, New Delhi
2. ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) founded in 2015, is a New Delhi-based non-profit organization with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, especially language and literacy development, through the professional development of teachers and teacher educators, building/sharing knowledge, and implementing projects in collaboration with state governments.
LLF is a system-focused and impact-driven organization dedicated to addressing the foundational learning crisis in collaboration with the national and state governments in India. Over the past 8 years, LLF has improved foundational learning outcomes of 850,000+ children and classroom processes of 2,50,000+ teachers and teacher educators across 8 states.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Associate Director - CPD & DST, the Specialist - Instructional Design, CPD (SID-CPD), will work closely with LLF's academic experts to research and conceptualise relevant capacity building programs on various FLN themes.
- S/he will be responsible for analyzing existing and new content, reimagining it to enhance engagement and usability. The incumbent will collaborate with external vendors, such as eLearning developers, to design e-content tailored to the target audience. Additionally, the role includes managing the end-to-end implementation of capacity-building programs.
(A) Research and Academic Focus:
(1) Develop a thorough understanding of LLF's program design & approach as well as the challenges in the field;
(2) Research latest and effective ways of presenting online content;
(3) Conduct research to identify strategies for increasing audience engagement with the content;
(4) Identify implementation models that suit various audiences, ensuring wider reach and engagement;
(5) Collaborate with academic experts to integrate insights into content design and other teams to develop a strategy for development and implementation of various capacity building programs under the FLN ecosystem;
(6) Stay updated on educational trends, methodologies, and technologies to review and evaluate content quality, effectiveness, and the impact of instructional strategies on learner engagement and outcomes.
(B) Instructional Design:
(1) Establish clear instructional goals and create content aligned with these objectives to achieve targeted learning outcomes;
(2) Visualize and develop structured frameworks for engaging course content and interactive learning activities for blended and online formats;
(3) Analyze and implement instructional design trends and best practices, collaborating with content writers to ensure creative, learner-focused approaches;
(4) Create engaging, theme-based content tailored to various stakeholders and programs, such as online courses, workshops, and sessions;
(5) Design exercises, activities, and assessments that enhance the learning experience and evaluate program effectiveness;
(6) Integrate diverse instructional materials and collaborate with multimedia designers to include videos, graphics, animations, and interactive elements;
(7) Review content drafts, provide feedback for improvement, and update course design maps as needed;
(8) Document instructional design processes, methodologies, and outcomes to maintain consistency and improve future program development.
(C) Program Implementation:
(1) Manage end-to-end implementation of online and blended mode capacity building programs such as courses and workshops to ensure they meet set objectives and deliver high-quality learning experiences;
(2) Collaborate with other team members such as the eLearning developer, communications team, academic experts, mentors to ensure seamless implementation of online learning programs;
(3) Provide training and support to facilitators and mentors involved in the capacity-building programs;
(4) Utilize learning management systems (LMS) for content delivery and monitoring;
(5) Monitor the progress of the programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure effectiveness and relevance;
(6) Make data-driven recommendations for improvements;
(7) Document and report on program outcomes and impact.
(D) Collaboration and Coordination:
(1) Collaborate with program teams to analyse user needs, audience, tasks, learning context, and UX, leading to the development of final product concepts;
(2) Engage with various stakeholders to ensure that the content and programs meet the needs of the target audience and align with LLF's mission and goals;
(3) Work with external vendors such as eLearning developers to design e-content for the required audience;
(4) Coordinate with content writers, e-developers, and the strategy team to ensure cohesive and effective content delivery;
(5) Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the team;
(6) Coordination with various stakeholders for the implementation of the course , workshops and activities;
(7) Organize and lead meetings, workshops, and training sessions with various stakeholders.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field;
(2) Minimum five to seven years of relevant work experience in content development and instructional design, preferably in the education sector;
(3) Should have expertise in the education sector, particularly foundational literacy and numeracy, with a proven ability to design effective and engaging e-learning and blended-learning content for adult learners, especially teachers and teacher educators of pre-primary and primary grades.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models for adults;
(2) Strong understanding of appropriate pedagogical approaches for foundational years and ability to communicate the same to others;
(3) Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods and strong ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts;
(4) Expertise with learning management systems such as Blackboard, Canvas, Camtasia, Captivate, Moodle, or proprietary LMS;
(5) Should be proficient in Hindi language;
(6) Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time;
(7) Demonstrate good level of emotional stability, intelligence, & social & self -awareness;
(8) Knowledge of Visual design tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator is an added advantage.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
