Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery within the factory. The role ensures minimal downtime, compliance with safety regulations, and efficient energy management.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems, machines, and control panels.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, breakdowns, and failures in machinery.
• Minimize production downtime by ensuring quick repairs and preventive maintenance.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.
• Conduct predictive maintenance using tools like thermal imaging and vibration analysis.
• Maintain logs and records of maintenance activities for future reference.

Installation & Upgrades:

• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new electrical machinery and equipment.
• Ensure proper calibration, wiring, and integration with factory automation systems.
• Suggest and implement upgrades for energy efficiency and performance improvement.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical installations comply with local regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce electrical safety protocols in the factory.
• Train staff on electrical safety measures and emergency procedures.

Energy Management & Cost Control:

• Monitor and optimize power consumption to reduce energy costs.
• Identify and eliminate energy wastage in electrical systems.
• Maintain relationships with vendors for procurement of electrical components.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain records of equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
• Prepare reports on breakdown analysis, maintenance costs, and improvement plans.
• Coordinate with management for budgeting and procurement decisions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Diploma/Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 2-5 years in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or factory setup.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, PLCs, motors, transformers, and switchgear.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation, control systems, and VFDs.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
