Finance Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

As a Finance Analyst at Sterlite Power, you will be responsible for the following key duties:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
• Assist in the preparation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Provide insights and recommendations for financial decision-making.
• Monitor actual performance against financial plans, highlighting variances and suggesting corrective actions.
2. Vendor Payables Management:
• Oversee vendor transactions, ensuring timely processing of payments.
• Manage vendor credit notes, debit notes, and ensure correct accounting for these entries.
3. Credit Ageing & Vendor Ageing:
• Monitor and track aging of vendor payables, ensuring that overdue payments are addressed.
• Prepare detailed reports on credit and vendor aging, highlighting any potential concerns.
4. Invoice Booking & Ledger Scrutiny:
• Manage the booking of invoices into the accounting system.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of vendor and purchase-related entries.
• Conduct regular ledger scrutiny to ensure proper reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
5. Vendor Management:
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth payment processes.
• Resolve any issues or disputes related to payments, invoices, and credit/debit notes.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles. CA Intermediate candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of Financial Systems & Tools: Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel (advanced level).
• Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, track variances, and generate actionable insights.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in financial reporting and data entry.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
• Problem-solving Ability: Proactive in addressing challenges related to vendor management, invoice booking, and financial reporting.
