Key responsibilities for Group Brand Head
- Lead Annual operating plans for all 3 big brands. Define brand objectives and key result areas for the year and work with key functional leaders to translate the annual brand objectives into specific functional projects that help achieve key business results for each of the brands.
- Design quarterly operating plans for all brands with specific growth actions and drive execution of the quarterly plan by leading multiple cross functional teams (CFTs)
- Be the voice of consumers and lead all consumer research and insights processes. Continually access consumer needs across markets and shape brand plans to solve consumer needs better than competition
- Define brand worlds for all the 3 brands of group sharply defining the consumer TG, brand essence, portfolio plan, pricing policy and GTM actions.
- Lead Portfolio management for each of 3 brands. Build right pack price architecture for key channels, define star products to lead brand growth, upgrade and optimize portfolio basis brand results and changing consumer need landscape.
- Lead Communication planning for all the 3 brands across all mediums. Build a roster of best-in-class communication agencies and develop annual communication plans rooted the sharply defined brand worlds of each of the 3 brands that helps accelerate key consumer and business metrics
- Manage profits for the group by leading delivery of sales results, managing pricing, leading CFTs to optimize costs and portfolio optimization and upgradation process.
- Set guidelines for all key sales actions including trade marketing, market expansion, shopper marketing, must sell SKU definitions, distribution scale up and key event plans. Work closely with sales leaders to drive seamless execution of plans and ensure sales results are delivered as per plans.
- Build and grow brand teams. Lead hiring, training and growth of brand team members. Run key HR projects like brand internships and management trainee programs that help in building a strong brand team.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 10 to12 year experience in FMCG sales and marketing function.
- Minimum 3-year experience in independently managing marketing for one (or set of) brands in leading FMCG companies. Experience of working in packaged foods space would be a big positive.
- Should have managed a team of 2-3 members. Ideally should have hired and build own team.
- Has rich experience of leading CFT's for large scale projects
- In the last 3 years should have experience of building annual operating plans independently and has led achievement of key sales and consumer metrics for one (or multiple) brands.
- Is comfortable in providing guidance and working closely with sales leaders across channels for planning sales actions. Demands sales and distribution results from the sales team for all assigned brands
- Should be excited to work closely with consumers and is aware of how to design all brand actions (innovation and communication) based on real consumer insights that solves real consumer problems in a ownable manner
- Has experience in managing portfolio across one (or multiple) categories and has led NPD, Portfolio upgrade and optimization projects
- Should have planned and led execution of at least one large scale communication campaign across multiple touch points in last 3 years
- Should take ownership of brand P/L and should be comfortable in working with CFT's to deliver on profit objectives for the organization
