The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and supervising the daily accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions. The role involves maintaining general ledgers, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, and providing insights to support strategic financial decisions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities. Financial Reporting and Analysis:. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant deviations.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data.
General Ledger Management:. Oversee and manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy in all account reconciliations.
Post and reconcile complex entries for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Accounts Payable and Receivable:. Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
Manage cash flow by monitoring account payables/receivables and recommending improvements.
Audit and Compliance:. Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and company policies.
Prepare documentation and records for auditors, and implement audit recommendations.
Taxation and Regulatory Filings:. Prepare tax returns and ensure timely submission to local authorities.
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Advise management on potential tax liabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Process Improvement:. Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
Implement automated accounting solutions where applicable to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Team Collaboration and Mentorship:. Collaborate with finance team members and other departments to support financial goals.
Mentor and train junior accountants, ensuring adherence to company standards and policies.
Special Projects:. Participate in and lead special accounting projects, as assigned.
Provide insights for financial decision-making and assist in financial planning and analysis
