Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Retail Operations to lead and oversee the end-to-end operations of our retail business. The role involves managing multi-location store operations, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, implement strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of innovation and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement retail strategies to achieve business objectives, including revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
    • Align operational goals with the companys overall vision and mission.
  2. Store Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of all retail outlets, ensuring adherence to brand standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Monitor and improve store performance through regular audits and reviews.
  3. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop regional managers, store managers, and their teams to drive performance.
    • Build a high-performing culture by implementing training programs and career development initiatives.
  4. Customer Experience:
    • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service across all stores.
    • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  5. Sales and Revenue Management:
    • Develop and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and budgets to maximize profitability.
    • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through promotions, upselling, and cross-selling initiatives.
  6. Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization:
    • Oversee inventory management processes to minimize stockouts and reduce shrinkage.
    • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure efficient product flow.
  7. Operational Efficiency:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Introduce technology-driven solutions to streamline operations and improve productivity.
  8. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure all stores comply with legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
    • Identify and mitigate potential operational risks.
  9. Market and Competitor Analysis:
    • Analyze market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
    • Develop strategies to adapt to changing consumer behavior and market dynamics.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
    • MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in retail operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of managing large-scale retail operations across multiple locations.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in retail software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Competencies:
    • In-depth understanding of retail operations, customer behavior, and market trends.
    • Ability to drive change and implement innovative solutions.
    • Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting and P&L management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Sales growth and revenue targets.
  • Customer satisfaction scores (e.g., NPS, CSAT).
  • Operational efficiency metrics (e.g., cost per transaction, inventory turnover).
  • Employee engagement and retention rates.
  • Compliance and audit performance.
