Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and innovative VDC Engineer to lead the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) efforts within our organization. As a VDC Lead you will also be involved in projects that span multiple disciplines - including Architecture, Project Management, Interior Design, Construction and Design Standards. The VDC lead will be responsible for managing the integration of digital construction models, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring that VDC processes are efficiently implemented across all phases of our projects. This role requires a deep understanding of VDC technologies, construction processes, and a proven ability to manage and coordinate teams and complex projects.
Key Responsibilities - Create technology evaluations and future technology adoption that aligns with the corporate goals
- Report on the company s current project state in regards to BIM Implementation
- Responsible for VDC/BIM standards development, implementation with a focus on BIM quality control
- Responsible for validating BIM models according to the Building Execution Planning for the region
- Create and maintain Revit templates
- Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity
- Oversee the activities on the projects BIM Models to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of the Revit Model
- Advise on company content files (Source Files, Detail Components, Annotation Components, and Model Components) with a focus on Quality Control and Clash and Coordination
- Assist design teams in BIM project setup, Creating Revit families in response to project needs
- Help resolve BIM design Issues
- Training & Development
- Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams and external partners on VDC tools, processes, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Architecture or related field
- 3-5 years of experience working on Revit and CDE
- Proficient with Revit families and library management
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk Navisworks Manage
- Proficient in the use of BIM360/ACC Environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and solve problems
Good to have
- Coding experience with C# or Python and experience with Revit APIs
- Dynamo or Grasshopper scripting tools
