SourceFuse Technologies - Database Migration Specialist - SQL Server (7-10 yrs)

We are seeking a database migration specialist with 7+ years of experience to join our team of database experts.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in database and cloud technologies, solid knowledge of database migration and good understanding of rewriting stored procedures and database code objects.

A strong background in database management, development, migration poc's and best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyse, plan and execute database migration projects (heterogeneous and homogeneous) Develop scripts and tools for migrating data between different databases ensuring data integrity and security.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and project managers to ensure successful migrations.

- Perform testing and validation of migrated data and schema to guarantee accuracy and reliability.

- Create documentation including migration plans, technical specifications, and operational procedures.

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during and after migrations.

- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to database management and migration.

Skills and Qualifications :

- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), Database Developer, or similar role with a focus on database code conversion and migration.

- Expertise in SQL and creating stored procedures and triggers in different databases and experience working with any RDBMS systems as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell scripting, etc., for automation and data manipulation tasks.

- Experience with cloud technologies and their respective services.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

- Excellent collaboration skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Additional Skills :

- Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).

- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
