DB Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 5 years of hands-on experience to manage and maintain our Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science and have a strong background in Oracle database administration. Experience with SQL Server is optional but considered a plus.

• Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and availability.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize database operations.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss and ensure quick recovery in case of failure.
• Security Management: Implement and enforce database security policies to safeguard data against unauthorized access and breaches.
• Patch Management: Apply patches and upgrades to Oracle databases to maintain security and functionality.
• Capacity Planning: Analyze database usage trends and forecast future growth to plan for capacity and scaling needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and support application performance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.

• Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with extensive hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency with Oracle Database versions 12c, 19c or 23ai.
  • Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle database architecture.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager or similar database management tools.
  • Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical issues.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SQL Server: Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus but not required.
• Certifications: Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or higher preferred.
• Additional Skills: Experience with other database platforms, cloud-based databases, or database automation tools.
