The Data Analyst at Sophos will leverage data management, analysis, and visualization skills to drive business insights and decisions. Responsibilities include managing databases with Oracle PL/SQL, creating dashboards with Spotfire and performing data analyses using T-SQL, SQL Server services, and Python.
The primary goal is to transform raw data into actionable insights, supporting strategic objectives and improving business processes. This role will enhance data integrity, optimize workflows, and foster a data-driven culture, contributing to the companys competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and optimize complex stored procedures, functions, and triggers using Oracle PL/SQL.
Handle transaction management, error handling, dynamic SQL, and performance optimization.
Maintain version control for database objects.
Data Visualization and Reporting
Create and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using Spotfire.
Implement action filters, parameters, and data transformations in Spotfire.
Utilize DAX for data modeling, reporting, and data integration.
Data Analysis and Transformation
Perform data cleaning, data modeling, and data reporting.
Utilize Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit for data manipulation and analysis.
Programming and Scripting
Develop and maintain scripts using Python and R for data analysis and automation.
Use Python to enhance Spotfire capabilities.
Desired Experience/Skills
Tech in CS, IT, Data Science, or a related field.
2-3 years experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and performance optimization.
Expertise in Spotfire for dashboard creation, data visualization, and transformation.
Familiarity with Argus Safety Database and PV knowledge is plus.
Proficient in Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit.
