Job Title:IP Attorney
The Senior Intellectual Property Attorney will oversee the intellectual property department of Soni and Soni Law Firm, providing strategic leadership and legal expertise across all areas of intellectual property. This role involves direct responsibility for managing the firms IP assets, advising on IP strategy, and leading all IP-related legal actions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic IP Management:
Develop and implement comprehensive IP strategies aligned with the firms business goals.
Oversee the management and growth of the firms IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Evaluate and manage the IP aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, ensuring seamless integration and protection of intellectual property.
Legal Representation and Advocacy:
Represent the firm and its clients in legal proceedings involving intellectual property, including litigation and administrative proceedings before relevant authorities.
Negotiate and draft critical IP agreements, such as license agreements, joint development agreements, and settlement agreements.
Provide expert legal advice to senior management and clients on complex IP matters, including infringement analyses, risk assessments, and compliance issues.
IP Operations and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with national and international IP laws and regulations.
Stay abreast of changes in IP law and adjust strategies accordingly.
Manage external relationships with government bodies, external counsel, and international IP organizations.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop the IP team to build a high-performing, integrated IP unit.
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
Manage budgets, including billing, cost structures, and IP-related expenses.
Education and Outreach:
Educate firm members and clients on important IP issues and best practices.
Speak at seminars, workshops, and conferences to represent the firms interests and expertise in the IP field.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
Licensed to practice law in India, preferably with credentials in patent or trademark law.
Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse IP portfolio and leading IP litigation cases.
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
