The Impact You ll Make in this Role

At Solventum, we are dedicated to creating seamless and efficient digital experiences. We re looking for a technically proficient Search Engineer to manage and optimize our Algolia search solution, ensuring it delivers accurate, fast, and personalized search results across our website. This role will involve both hands-on technical management of the search tool and a broader focus on optimizing the overall search experience.

As a Search Engineer, you will:

Take ownership of the technical management of Algolia , ensuring efficient, accurate, and fast search functionality across the website.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the search experience for users, ensuring relevance and high-quality results.

Develop and manage custom search features and configurations within Algolia , such as synonyms, custom ranking, and search facets.

Perform regular monitoring, troubleshooting, and debugging of search issues to ensure optimal system performance.

Work with front-end and back-end teams to integrate search functionalities across the site, ensuring smooth interactions between Algolia and other web technologies.

Analyze search data and user behavior to identify opportunities for optimization and improve the overall search experience.

Collaborate with product and design teams to develop new features or enhancements for the search interface.

Ensure that search results are personalized and aligned with business goals, leveraging machine learning and ranking techniques.

Monitor and manage search performance, conducting A/B testing to continuously refine and enhance search relevance.

Stay up-to-date with best practices and new features in Algolia and search technology to drive continuous improvement.

Skills and Expertise
To succeed in this role, you need:

2-3 years of experience working with Algolia , including hands-on search configuration, customization, and integration.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript , JSON , and other front-end technologies for integrating and optimizing search functionalities.

Experience with search algorithms , ranking mechanisms, and relevance tuning to improve user experience.

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and search tool integration within web applications.

Experience in data analysis , utilizing search data to identify patterns and inform search optimizations.

Strong technical troubleshooting skills and experience resolving performance issues in real-time.

Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and how to apply them to optimize search relevance and UX.

Familiarity with machine learning concepts applied to search relevance is a plus.

Experience working in an agile development environment and collaborating with product and design teams.
