Lead Electrical Engineer - Polyethylene

QUALIFICATION: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.

LOCATION: Vadodara, Gujarat

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead Electrical Engineer is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independently and also manage a team of Engineers for overseeing the electrical aspect of projects.
• Coordinate with the project team and engineering contractors during the FEED, EPC, construction, commissioning to Operation phase of the project.
• Review projects, electrical system design and detailed engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Will report to Project Manager-Polyethylene.
• Review of electrical equipment such as HT & LT electrical networks, emergency & UPS power systems, HT & LT switch gears, VCBs & vacuum contactors, Sub-stations, transformers, HT & LT motors, DG sets, grounding & lightening protection, hazardous area classification, VFDs, cable laying & routing, etc., protection system such as relay coordination, various numerical protection relays, etc., different types of materials used in Refinery/Petrochemicals industry.
• Maintain an overview over the entire technical delivery ensuring that all scope is appropriately covered and that all parties clearly understand their requirements and their interfaces with others.
• Ensure a formal and disciplined technical communication protocols by establishing and maintaining an RFI, Technical Concession and Change process with a live tracking register.
• Provide input/ establish internal company policies and procedures and ensure implementation. Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out.
• Participate in HAZOP, QRA, HAZID & HSEIA. Advise the Engineering Manager ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues.
• Provide appropriate guidance as necessary with regard to local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements.
• He shall have the personality and drive to manage independently and also direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives.
• In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with FEED Engineering, EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work.
• Good exposure in Electrical sub station engineering /construction works.
• Good Exposure in High voltage Transformers engineering phase /construction phase.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Greenfield Project experience mandatory
• Experience only from Petrochemicals / Fertilizers / Refinery / Specialty Chemicals will be considered. Absolutely necessary that there should be strong experience in any of these industries
• Should have a good experience of Electrical System Engineering & Design

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

• Coordinating with FEED/ EPC Engineering Contractors electrical team in electrical system design and detailed engineering for petrochemical projects.
• Ability to review FEED/ EPC engineering contractors design and engineering documents related to electrical system.
• Ability to work independently providing necessary inputs in setting policy, and establishing work methods.
• Exposure to PE Process Technology, HSE system and best practices and participating or carrying out safety procedures like HAZOP etc.
• Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization, Proven conflict resolution skills.
