Job Description
- Provide hands-on direction to a software engineering team, in collaboration with product management and/or architecture leads , for the delivery of agreed upon roadmap items
- Drive delivery of engineering deliverables across multiple development organizations
- Serve as the scrum master responsible for successfully leading the efforts of all cross functional teams, including development, user experience, and quality assurance
- Partner with Product Management to ensure successful delivery of the product to the market from conception to release
- Communicate engineering release health, issues, and risks to stakeholders at varying levels throughout the organization
- Proactively manage engineering risks and issues to mitigate or eliminate undesirable impact
- Serve as the primary communication mechanism within the development team ensuring each workstream is giving and receiving the right information at the right time from the right resources
- Build strong partnerships across the organization
- Take initiative as a technical problem solver able to proactively identify and understand technical issues and challenges and bring the right resources together to resolve them
- Lead scrum meetings
Skills and Behaviors
- Provide leadership to achieve a high software engineering standard, including quality, security, stability, and scalability
- 5-7 years of mentoring and growing successful engineering teams
- Continuously improve tools and best practices for development activities
- Utilize agile, and iterative approaches to manage development efforts
- Demonstrates high level of leadership and accountability
- Collaborate with team members to promote productivity and effectiveness
- Experience with project management best practices and methodologies
- Experience in software development and management
- Experience with Agile software methodologies
- Experience managing technology deliverables and application portfolios
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to drive day-to-day activities
- Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and other Program Management tools required
- Understanding programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL
