Production Manager (Machine Stitching Section)

Job Summary:

The Production Manager for the Machine Stitching Section is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations of machine-stitched footballs, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and timely production. The role involves managing production staff, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Management:

• Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities in the machine stitching section.
• Ensure timely completion of production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Monitor machine utilization and workforce allocation to maximize productivity.

2. Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure footballs meet company and industry quality standards (e.g., FIFA, ISO).
• Identify defects, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with the quality assurance team.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and labor regulations.

3. Process Improvement & Efficiency:

• Continuously analyze production processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure smooth machine operations and minimize downtime.

4. Team Management & Training:

• Supervise and lead production staff, including machine operators and line supervisors.
• Conduct training programs to enhance workers' skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Address employee concerns and foster a positive work environment.

5. Inventory & Resource Management:

• Ensure adequate availability of raw materials, machine parts, and accessories required for production.
• Coordinate with the procurement and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Control material wastage and ensure efficient utilization of resources.

6. Reporting & Coordination:

• Maintain production records and generate reports on output, efficiency, and downtime.
• Collaborate with other departments such as R&D, procurement, and sales for smooth operations.
• Communicate regularly with senior management regarding production updates and challenges.

Key Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setup, preferably in football or sports goods production.
• Proven experience in machine stitching operations is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of production planning, process optimization, and quality control.
• Familiarity with machine stitching technology, raw materials, and equipment used in football manufacturing.
• Leadership and people management skills to handle production teams effectively.
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software for production management.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
