Data Scientist

Role & responsibilities

Summary:

The Data Scientist is responsible for supporting the development and

implementation of data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong

background in ETL, data wrangling, data exploration and machine learning, as well as

experience working in a corporate environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, and organise data from a variety of sources

• Perform data wrangling and EDA

• Develop and implement statistical/ML models to analyse data

• Communicate the results of data analysis to stakeholders

• Stay up-to-date on the latest statistical methods and trends

• Work with senior data scientists to develop and implement data-driven solutions

Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning

techniques:

• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for

building analytic

systems

• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Develop and customize machine learning models and also combine models through

ensemble

modelling techniques• Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights.

• Build quick prototypes to demonstrate new technology / algorithm benefits
• Producing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and

limitations of each

project.

• Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability.
• Architect and implement solutions to AI / ML problems.
• Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business

strategies.

• Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure

that outputs are

always relevant.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in machine learning, statistics, mathematics or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in data science

• Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, etc.)

• Experience with data mining, data wrangling, data analysis and machine learning

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
