SQL Administrator

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled SQL Administrator to manage and maintain database systems, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and security. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and related technologies. The role requires strong proficiency in T-SQL, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security, as well as experience with data replication and high-availability solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Optimize database performance through performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Implement and manage database security policies, including user roles, permissions, and encryption.
• Set up and monitor data replication and high availability solutions.
• Perform regular database health checks, troubleshooting, and resolving issues promptly.
• Write and optimize T-SQL scripts for database management and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with development teams to support database design, queries, and deployment needs.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.
• Stay updated on emerging database technologies and best practices.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL administration.
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL scripting and query optimization.
• Strong expertise in database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting database bottlenecks.
• Hands-on experience with data replication and high availability configurations.
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 3-8 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proven track record of managing and optimizing enterprise-level databases.
• Experience implementing and managing backup and recovery, security, and high-availability solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions is a plus (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
