About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chartered Accountant to join our client's team in Indore as a Director - Statutory Audit.
This is a leadership position with responsibility for overseeing and executing statutory audits, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and managing a team of audit professionals.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Indian accounting standards, auditing practices, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Execution of Statutory Audits: Lead and manage the planning, execution, and completion of statutory audits in accordance with applicable accounting standards (Indian GAAP, Ind AS) and auditing standards (SA).
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and other applicable laws.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory reports.
- Team Management and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of audit professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on audit-related matters.
- Effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients.
- Risk Assessment and Internal Controls: Evaluate and assess client's internal control systems and identify areas of risk.
- Recommend improvements to internal controls and risk management processes.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated on the latest accounting and auditing standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance to the audit team.
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality and accuracy of audit work performed by the team, adhering to the firm's quality control policies and procedures.
- Budget Management: Manage audit budgets and resources effectively, ensuring timely completion of audits within budget.
- Business Development: Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying potential clients and expanding the firm's audit portfolio.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of post-qualification experience in statutory audit with a reputed audit firm in India.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, auditing standards (SA), and relevant regulatory requirements (Companies Act, Income Tax Act, etc.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team of audit professionals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and senior management.
- Client Management Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional client service.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex audit issues.
- Time Management and Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
