Site Reliability Engineer ( SRE )

Role Description

• Project Management & Change Execution is responsible for delivery of the value and strategic outcomes of their Change BoW that ensures successful transition into the organisations goals, processes and technologies.
• Adopting values and principles that follow agreed processes and practices to allow teams to continually improve their performance.
• Work includes:Create and align a sustainable change vision for the delivery function - partnering with the Business & Infrastructure areas, building a deep understanding and/or leveraging SME knowledge in order to have a clear understanding of the business outcomes articulate requirements, source and document details on process, metrics and data in order to execute the change mandate
• Monitoring dependencies across multiple inter-related projects/ products, managing and reporting status of product roadmap and/ or project status, RAID and financial information to support effective decision making
• Removing blockers to ensure the team is successful and working with end users to ensure successful adoption
• Developing project/ product & change artefacts during the change lifecycle, e.g., scope, business case, communication, change management and or training plans, materials and overseeing monitoring the execution to ensure adoption and minimal disruption of normal business operations
• Providing training/mentoring where applicable on various methodologies; including change management, agile, process re-engineering, robotics, project methodologies, and continuous deployment

• Training on the job and close collaboration with our team in Mumbai, as well as onshore RPM teams, e.g. in New York and Frankfurt

Your key responsibilities

• The DevOps senior engineer will contribute to the software continuous delivery implementation and operations of Deutsche Bank Private Bank projects.
• Works as part of an engineering team to improve the overall delivery process
• Working with software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended Support engineering efforts by providing tools, automation, and hardware assistance.
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Helps enhancing Continuous Integration Delivery Monitoring
• Develops and integrates systems, utilities and scripts to automate deployment and monitoring of builds and environments
• Work with Developers and QAs to orchestrate automated testing and deployment through a lifecycle of environments from dev to production.
• Identifies issues optimization potentials and implements solutions
• Liaises with other technical teams, conducting technology research, and evaluating software required for maintaining the development environment.
• The role would ideally suit a passionate technologist, with broad experience across software delivery & technologies with an agile mind-set.
• Routine application maintenance tasks are an ongoing responsibility of DevOps Engineers that they accomplish via strategy-building techniques.
• Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations Design, deploy, manage and document CI/CD pipelines
• Handling change and release management activity.

Your skills and experience

• Experience with high-end complex solutions and mission-critical (99.9% uptime) applications
• Understanding of industry standards processes for build, deploy, release and support (CI/CD, incident/problem change management etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Apache Webserver, Java Application servers, Load balancers
• Experience with any cloud-based infrastructure (GCP/AWS/Azure), highly available and fault tolerant applications.
• Our tech stack: GCP (GKE, CloudSQL, CloudMonitoring etc), but any other public cloud experience is relevant, Kubernetes, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, GitHub Actions, Helm.
• Good understanding of infrastructure and platform components: Shell scripting, Python, Linux
• Container management: OpenShift
• DBMS and SQL (Oracle)
• Middleware: IBM MQ, Solace, JMS, Kafka
• Application layer protocols (TLS/SSL, HTTP(S), DNS, etc)
• Experience in supporting/building Continuous Delivery pipelines
• Experience with deployment strategies (such as BlueGreen, Canary, A/B)
• Good understanding of various design and architectural patterns
• Good understanding of Microservices and API Management
• Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle processes and the related tools such as: BitBucket, Git, Artifactory and other software configuration management/version control tools; ; Jenkins, TeamCity or other CI tools; Maven, Gradle or other build tools; Ansible or other IT Automation/software provisioning tools; JIRA, Confluence;
• Experience in monitoring/reporting tools such as Splunk, Grafana/Prometheus etc
• Experience in Agile practices
• Collaboration Skills: Proactive can-do attitude; A creative approach towards solving technical problems; Able to work efficiently with colleagues in multiple locations; Willing to collaborate across domains, for efficiency in technology sharing and reuse; Excellent communication skills in English.
