DRAUGHTSMAN

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Draughtsman to join our design and engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and plans based on the specifications and requirements of architects, engineers, and designers. As a Draughtsman, you will play a critical role in transforming conceptual ideas into precise, clear, and detailed drawings that serve as the foundation for construction, manufacturing, and other engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Drawing Creation:

   • Prepare detailed, accurate, and comprehensive technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
   • Convert rough sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions into clear, precise, and standardized technical drawings.
   • Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, codes, and specifications.
   • Develop 2D and 3D models of structures, systems, or products based on project requirements.

2. Collaboration with Engineers and Designers:

   • Work closely with engineers, architects, and designers to understand project requirements and objectives.
   • Review and revise designs based on feedback from the project team, making necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and functionality.
   • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure drawings are aligned with the overall project scope and timeline.

3. Project Documentation:

   • Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and design documentation.
   • Prepare and update design documents, technical specifications, and other related project materials.
   • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other documentation to support design and project discussions.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

   • Ensure all drawings are of high quality and meet industry standards and client requirements.
   • Perform checks on drawings for consistency, accuracy, and completeness before submission or implementation.
   • Verify dimensions, materials, and specifications to ensure the designs are feasible and safe.

5. Site Visits and Fieldwork:

   • Occasionally visit construction or manufacturing sites to gather data, inspect work, or take measurements to support design revisions or updates.
   • Address any discrepancies between the drawings and real-world conditions, making adjustments where necessary.

6. Continuous Improvement:

   • Stay updated on new technologies, software, and design techniques to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of drafting processes.
   • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of drafting standards, industry regulations, and software tools.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

   • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment on technical aspects of the project.
   • Provide technical support and clarification to other team members or departments as required.
