Senior Structural Engineer

• Design of Structural Systems:
• Design structural elements such as foundations, beams, columns, slabs, and load-bearing walls for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
• Ensure designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., Eurocode, AISC, IBC).
• Conduct structural calculations and simulations to assess the strength, stability, and performance of the designed elements.
• Analysis of Structures:
• Perform detailed analysis of existing and new structures using tools like SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, or AutoCAD for load, stress, and strain conditions.
• Evaluate materials and structural components to determine the best approach to achieving a safe, cost-effective, and sustainable design.

Collaboration & Coordination:

• Interdisciplinary Coordination:
  
• Collaborate with architects, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers, and construction teams to ensure that structural designs integrate seamlessly with other systems and building components.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of designs in relation to the overall project schedule and budget.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
  
• Meet with clients to understand their needs and discuss structural solutions.
• Present design proposals to clients, stakeholders, or regulatory bodies, providing clarity on technical details and ensuring designs align with project objectives.

Site Supervision & Quality Control:

• Construction Oversight:
  
• Visit construction sites to oversee the implementation of designs and resolve any on-site issues related to structural elements.
• Ensure that contractors adhere to structural specifications and quality standards during construction.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise the testing of materials (e.g., concrete, steel) to ensure they meet design specifications.
• Quality Assurance:
  
• Monitor the quality of construction and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material selections for compliance with the structural design.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare Technical Reports:
  
• Document structural calculations, design decisions, material choices, and any modifications or revisions made during the course of a project.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings and reports for client approval and regulatory submissions.
• Compliance & Approvals:
  
• Ensure that all structural designs comply with local, state, and national regulations and codes.
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation for building permits and regulatory approvals.

Risk Management & Safety:

• Risk Analysis:
  
• Identify and assess potential risks related to structural integrity during construction and in the long term.
• Propose appropriate risk mitigation strategies, ensuring designs accommodate seismic, wind, and other environmental factors.
• Safety Standards:
  
• Adhere to safety protocols in both design and construction phases to prevent accidents or damage.
• Incorporate safety features into the structural design, such as emergency exits, load-bearing safety standards, and resilient design against natural disasters.
