Finance Director

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and forecasts to achieve business goals.
• Lead financial planning and budgeting, aligning financial goals with the companys strategic objectives.
• Monitor key financial metrics, analyse variances, and provide actionable insights for decision-making with Strong Excel skills.

2. Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and financial disclosures in India and US.
• Collaborate with external auditors to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Possess experience with US accounting principles and compliance requirements.

3. Strategic Leadership & Decision Support

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing financial insights and risk assessments.
• Contribute to organizational growth by analysing business opportunities, evaluating new projects, and supporting strategic decision-making.
• Evaluate potential acquisitions, mergers, or partnerships and support the execution of investment strategies.

4. Risk Management & Internal Controls

• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure integrity of financial data and adherence to company policies.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to safeguard company assets.
• Lead risk management initiatives, including treasury, insurance, and asset management strategies.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Oversee talent acquisition and succession planning within the finance department.

6. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Monitor and manage cash flow to maintain liquidity and financial stability.
• Oversee investment decisions to optimize returns on capital while minimizing risks.
• Manage relationships with financial institutions and negotiate terms to support the organizations financial needs.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong understanding of financial compliance, tax regulations, and reporting standards in both India and the US.
• Ability to translate financial data into business insights and drive strategic decision-making.
• Hands-on experience with financial software like Zoho, ERP systems, and advanced Excel for budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Ability to engage effectively with CXOs, investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
• A background in a fast-paced, technology-driven industry and experience working with high-growth organizations will be an added advantage.
• Expertise in risk mitigation strategies, cash flow optimization, and investment decision-making.
