Senior Executive / Assistant Manager - Engineering

Role & responsibilities

Product Design and Development:
Conceptualize and design new products using CREO software.

Develop 3D models, technical drawings, and detailed documentation for manufacturing.

Ensure adherence to industry standards and client specifications in design and development.

Execute product design lifecycle from conceptualization to prototype validation and production implementation.

Manufacturing Process Integration:
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate design solutions with production processes like injection molding, aluminum foundry, and others.

Apply knowledge of material properties, manufacturing techniques, and tooling requirements to optimize product designs for manufacturability.

Costing and Sales Support:
Work with sales and business development teams to provide accurate cost estimations for new projects.

Support proposal development through technical inputs, design feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analysis.

Engage with customers to address technical queries and provide innovative solutions.

Engineering Excellence:
Conduct tolerance analysis and material selection to enhance product performance and reliability.

Ensure designs meet quality and safety standards, including Six Sigma principles where applicable.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency within the engineering function.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality assurance, and production, to ensure seamless project execution.

Partner with global teams and stakeholders for MNC-specific projects and standards.

Team Leadership and Development:
Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.

Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability within the engineering team.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:
Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

Technical Expertise:

Proficient in CREO software (mandatory).

Strong understanding of design principles, tolerance analysis, and material selection.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes like injection molding, aluminum foundry, and other related techniques.

Experience:
7+ years of relevant experience in product design and development (7 to 10 years preferred).

Demonstrated experience in cost estimation and sales support.

Experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC) is an advantage.

Certifications:
Six Sigma certification preferred.
