Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Quality Standards & Assurance


  • Develop and implement in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications as per the industry standards, best practices and customer requirements
  • Drive development, implementation, compliance, and timely renewal of legislative & regulatory requirements like ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 18001:2007, ISO 27001:2013, HSSMS.
  • Lead regular assessment & continual improvement in Quality, through effective root cause analysis and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Establish rigorous in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; testing methods and procedures to ensure minimal quality checks during PDI
  • Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends through different statistical tools for better results
  • Introduce different quality measurement and controls to keep product quality as per the desired standards. Design experiments to improve process capability of critical processes to achieve zero complain from customers. Statistical process control
  • Build lab testing facilities and infrastructure to cater to quality assurance of products
  • Oversee calibration and testing programs
  • Define the quality standards for the Vendors (new and existing) and ensure complete adherence of quality process
  • Ensure regular awareness sessions are conducted on Quality procedures and processes for effectiveness and enforcement of Quality standards
  • Identify and execute different projects on cost optimization, productivity improvement, FTR, Six sigma, etc; without compromising the productivity, reliability, quality, and regulatory compliances
  • Ensure training programs related to Quality, Products, QMS, EMS, OHSAS, HSSMS, Safety, 7S, GMP, six sigma, etc are conducted aiming at enhancing the technical competencies of quality, operations and other key staff

Quality Audit/ Management Representative


  • Prepare Documents for HSSMS, IMS, and other certifications and ensure timely license renewals and its audit
  • Plan prepare and conduct Internal audit periodically to build Organization readiness to face customer and external audits
  • Assist audit team and ensure all the documents and equipments are made available for verification in Audits
  • Ensure closure of open points mentioned in Corrective Actions Required list by Auditors
  • Build monthly review mechanism to close all NCs on time and ensure same NC does not occur in next audit

Customer Relation Management


  • Understand customer quality issues and ensure resolution in amicable manner within defined SLAs (Service Level Agreement)
  • Work with Sales and Marketing team to answer product centric queries from various current and potential customers
  • Visit customer/ handle customer visits to understand customer quality requirement and challenges
  • Ensure manufacturing team has taken action promptly on customer complaint and implemented corrective action to avoid further issues
  • Build customer relation in such manner that there is less escalation of quality issues and receive better rating on Customer satisfaction index
  • Customer visit as per requirement.

Research and New product development


  • Drive Product Benchmarking with competitor/ industry and build in-house capability to develop new products in coordination with production department
  • Carry out product research and generate new product development program based on cost feasibility and customer demand
  • Work closely with the Sales team to evaluate market trends, competitor product strategies, customer demand and recommend customer/ market specific best product solutions
  • Define various specifications, standards and qualification methods for new products being developed
  • Plan & monitor expenditures for equipment, materials, and human resources, ensuring they are used efficiently to meet NPD targets
  • Provide technical support to all related departments to achieve hassle free correct product development to achieve customer satisfaction & addition of new business
  • Ensure timely completion of different events of product development as per the customer schedule
  • Identify, assess & develop new vendors to satisfy customer requirements for NPD / optimizing cost effective production
  • Initiate planning & controlling of tools manufacturing to achieve customer time lines.- First time right principle for NPD
  • Provide low cost automation solutions to reduce over heads & achieve the quality goals

Continuous Improvement


  • Ensure regular audit of different manufacturing processes, identify areas of improvements with different stakeholders in their respective areas and ensure improvement plans ( Kaizens) are executed properly to achieve desired results in stipulated timeline
  • Implement various business excellence techniques like 7S Initiatives

Health & Safety


  • All Health, Safety and environment related certification have been completed and there is no NC during audits
  • Periodic review and audit of Health & safety status and if required get, recommend to management to get more equipments and take approval on budget and ensure there is no compromise on health & safety in the plant
  • In coordination with HR Department and external agencies, carry out regular awareness sessions to educate shop floor workers and relevant staff to avoid any accidents due to negligence and lack of awareness

Vision Mission & Service Excellence


  • Drive implementation of Veritechs vision & mission statement across the organization& create visibility of the same to all external stakeholders
  • Ensure application of best practices/ benchmarking with industry standards delivering optimum cost benefits
  • Build and manage cross functional relationships internally and collaborate with different stakeholders to complete the tasks for achieving the organizational goals
  • Create an environment of positivity within the team and guide the team to act in alignment to Veritech’s culture and value

MIS and Management Reviews


  • Ensure all quality log book are adequately maintained and also updated in ERP
  • Ensure data is collected, analysed and reported in a timely and accurate manner for Quality & NPD
  • Ensure compliance to time bound team meetings and Management Review Meetings with proper documentation of the minutes of meeting

People Management


  • Define performance targets for the team members conduct time bound team reviews, providing appropriate feedback and improvement guidelines (set objectives and goals, break down work into process steps, develop schedules and assignments for the team members & self, establish measures to monitor performance accountability within the team)
  • Define and roll out performance incentive scheme to enhance the productivity of staff/ associates
  • Responsible for engaging and motivating team members, providing a team atmosphere facilitating learning and growth opportunities
  • Responsible to ensure that team comprises of rightly skilled team members and also play an active role in right sizing the team accordingly
  • Provide functional and managerial leadership to the team and be instrumental in developing their capabilities and groom employees for higher and additional responsibilities

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates from the printing and packaging industry will be preferred.
