Job Description

The Plant HR and Administration role in a pharmaceutical industry is crucial for managing human resources, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a productive work environment. The responsibilities are broadly categorized into HR functions and administrative duties:

1. HR Functions

a. Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Hiring and onboarding employees, including plant workers, R&D staff, and support teams.
  • Ensuring workforce planning aligns with production demands.

b. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Handling grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Organizing employee engagement activities and welfare programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with labor laws and ethical practices.

c. Training & Development

  • Conducting training programs on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety, and compliance.
  • Skill enhancement programs for technical and non-technical staff.

d. Performance Management

  • Implementing and monitoring performance appraisal systems.
  • Setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for plant employees.
  • Addressing performance gaps through training and development.

e. Compliance & Labor Law Adherence

  • Ensuring adherence to labor laws (Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, etc.).
  • Managing audits related to HR and labor compliance.
  • Maintaining records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.

2. Administration Functions

a. Facilities & Security Management

  • Overseeing security, housekeeping, and canteen facilities.
  • Ensuring a clean and hygienic working environment, crucial for pharma operations.
  • Managing transportation for employees

b. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Implementing safety protocols and conducting safety drills.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental and workplace safety regulations.
  • Coordinating with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) teams.

c. Statutory & Legal Compliance

  • Ensuring plant operations comply with labor laws, pollution control norms, and industry regulations.
  • Liaising with government agencies for compliance-related matters.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree (Mandatory) in HR, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred) such as an MBA in HR, MS in Industrial Relations, or Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in HR, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment with experience in the entire HR employee life cycle
