Paint Technologist (Production)

Job responsibilities:

• Set and achieve inspection targets as per the plan
• Monitor the blasting process, including air pressure, abrasive contamination, moisture content, and ambient conditions such as humidity, surface temperature, and surface profile by replica tape, salt contamination test, etc.
• Monitor the painting process using both destructive and non-destructive tests, such as DFT, crosscut, pull-off adhesion test, pinhole detection, etc.
• Ensure proper handling of materials and reduction of rework
• Coordinate with other departments for various painting in production department-related activities
• Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures at all levels
• Prepare documentation
• Implement IMS and KAIZEN at the workplace
• Meet quality requirements of customers and ensure reduction of cost
• Interact with coating vendors for technical queries
• Manage industrial relations to ensure a harmonious work environment
• Maintain shop floor discipline and ensure adherence to safe working practices
• Document and record ongoing blasting/painting parameters in the inspection report.

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience
• In-depth knowledge of surface preparation, blasting, and painting processes
• Knowledge of various coating materials and their application processes
• Experience in implementing IMS and KAIZEN at the workplace
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Should have Process Equipment background
