Assistant General Manager

The individual will be responsible for driving business development initiatives, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing profit and loss for the location. This role will also work closely with cross-functional teams to execute daily operations, control costs, and maximize revenue.

The position will operate within the CFS Operations scope, handling tasks ranging from business development to terminal operations, logistics management, and customer service. Specifically, this role will manage the complete lifecycle of CFS activities, including market outreach, container management, warehouse operations, and P&L responsibility.

In addition, this role will lead and coordinate inter-departmental activities related to pricing, costing, vendor management, and operational excellence. The incumbent will oversee a team, monitor performance, and drive the achievement of business goals. The areas of focus include but are not limited to:

• Business Development & Market Research
• Customer Relationship Management
• Operations Management (Import/Export, Warehouse, Equipment, etc.)
• Financial Oversight and Profit & Loss Management

Roles & Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Market and promote CFS services to importers, exporters, steamer agents, MLOs, NVOCCs, and other trade associates.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and enhance service offerings.
• Partner with the marketing team to create strategies for customer acquisition and retention.

Operations Management:

• Oversee terminal handling for import/export operations, including container movement, empty container yard management, and warehouse operations.
• Control and optimize operations of public bonded warehouses, general warehouses, and equipment maintenance & repair.
• Ensure smooth execution of coastal shipments, LCL consolidation, and door-to-door services.

Financial Oversight & P&L Management:

• Develop and manage pricing strategies for clients, ensuring competitive and profitable service offerings.
• Monitor and control operational costs, including container maintenance, logistics, and warehousing.
• Ensure timely receivables management, account reconciliation, and monitoring of discounts/waivers to customers.

Team Leadership & Performance Management:

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team to meet operational and sales targets.
• Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Drive team engagement and professional development initiatives.

Customer Relationship & Key Account Management:

• Manage key customer accounts, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
• Address customer inquiries, resolve operational issues, and ensure smooth execution of services.
• Coordinate with various teams to provide updates on shipments and handle special requirements.
