Solar Design Engineer MMS

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Solar Panel Mounting Structure Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing mounting structures for solar panels that ensure safety, efficiency, and durability in a wide range of environments. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality solutions for residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop structural mounting systems for solar panels that meet industry standards and client specifications for residential, commercial, industrial, ground mount structures.
• Perform structural analysis to ensure that mounting systems are robust and capable of withstanding environmental conditions, including wind, snow, seismic activity, and other weather-related stresses.
• Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models of mounting systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and ensure that designs are cost-effective, efficient, and easy to install.
• Work closely with project managers, installers, and other engineers to ensure the structural designs align with project requirements and schedules.
• Conduct site assessments to gather data for designing mounting solutions, including soil conditions, wind loads, and other relevant factors.
• Ensure that all designs comply with local, national, and international safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to select appropriate materials and components for the mounting systems.
• Provide technical support during the installation and troubleshooting phases of solar projects.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and best practices in solar panel mounting technology.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in structural design, with a focus on solar panel mounting systems or similar industries (e.g., steel, construction, or renewable energy).
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles, including experience with software such as STAAD Pro or SAP2000.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, AISC, IEC, UL, etc.) for solar mounting structures.
• Experience with materials selection, including steel, aluminum, and other construction-grade materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of solar energy systems and installation practices is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or simulation tools.
• Familiarity with PV system design software (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst).
• Experience in large-scale utility solar projects or ground-mounted systems.
