Network Security Analyst (Entry-Level)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Network Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in network security and grow in the field of cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage network security systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) to ensure the safety and security of the organizations network.
• Assist in the identification and resolution of security incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct network security assessments and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses.
• Maintain and configure network security devices such as firewalls, routers, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Analyze and respond to security alerts and incidents, ensuring prompt mitigation of potential threats.
• Assist in the implementation and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
• Collaborate with other teams (IT, development, etc.) to ensure the integration of security measures in all aspects of the network infrastructure.
• Perform routine security audits and support compliance initiatives.
• Participate in incident response activities, including investigating security breaches and conducting post-incident analyses.
• Generate reports for management on network security status and incident resolutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, etc.).
• Familiarity with network security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nessus).
• Basic knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security technologies.
• Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and attacks (e.g., SQL injection, DDoS, phishing).
• Basic experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
