Job Description
- Adherence to health and safety requirements at all times and helping to maintain and improve safety standards across the solar plants
- Undertaking planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements
- Undertaking AC and DC testing, troubleshooting and fault-finding
- Carry out reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
- Inspection, testing and maintenance of PV modules, DC string combiner boxes and string inverters
- Inspect, evaluate, test, repair, and maintain a multitude of other related machinery and tools, including mounting hardware, combiner fuse boxes, inverters, switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, batteries, data acquisition systems, relays, programmable logic controllers, meters, weather stations, and other components.
- Troubleshooting and repairs on sensors and communication equipment including RS485, Ethernet and fibre optic networks
- Configuration of computer-based devices and components, including firmware updates
- Occasionally assisting with ground maintenance or mechanical work
- Physical and dexterous work to replace components and undertake maintenance activities
- Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and monitoring their work
- Keeping accurate maintenance records and compiling reports
- Keeping in close communication with the O&M office
