Job Title : Senior System Engineer - Team Lead.
Job Summary :
- We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to lead a team responsible for managing Windows-based workstations.
- This role involves overseeing system updates, installations, backups, and security patches while troubleshooting workstation and Outlook-related issues.
- The candidate will also mentor and guide a team of engineers, ensuring efficient operation and support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage a team of system engineers responsible for Windows workstation management and support.
- Supervise the installation, configuration, and upgrading of Windows operating systems, software, and applications on workstations.
- Ensure the timely execution of system updates, security patches, and the implementation of backup strategies to safeguard data.
- Oversee troubleshooting of complex technical issues, including Outlook configurations and performance problems.
- Manage workstation and endpoint security by implementing antivirus software, firewalls, and other protective measures.
- Proactively monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize workstation operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure integration of security protocols, infrastructure updates, and network changes.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and best practices for system updates, installations, and issue resolution.
- Provide leadership in team development, including mentoring junior engineers, conducting performance reviews, and identifying training needs.
- Ensure all support activities meet defined SLAs and comply with organizational standards.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, processes, and issue tracking reports.
- Coordinate with the HR department and management to ensure proper resource allocation and succession planning for the team.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools that improve workstation performance and security.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in managing Windows-based workstations and related infrastructure.
- Proven experience in a team leadership role, with a track record of mentoring and developing engineers.
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows workstation management, including system updates, security patching, and backups.
- Expertise in troubleshooting Outlook and Windows system issues.
- Proficient in Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server environments.
- Solid understanding of endpoint security, including antivirus software and security patch management.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Experience with ticketing systems, remote desktop support, and ITIL frameworks is a plus.
Certifications :
- MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience with cloud-based services (e.g, Microsoft 365, Azure) is highly desirable.
