Job SummaryThe GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Executive is responsible for overseeing the availability, maintenance, and operational efficiency of all ground support equipment at the airport. This role involves coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support safe, on-time flight operations and a high level of customer service.Key Responsibilities Equipment Management Oversee the allocation and utilization of ground support equipment (e.g., baggage tractors, belt loaders, ground power units). Monitor equipment performance, ensuring that all GSE is in proper working condition and readily available for operations. Maintenance & Repair Coordinate with the maintenance team or third-party service providers to schedule regular inspections and preventive maintenance. Track and document all maintenance activities, ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime. Implement and monitor maintenance checklists, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ensure all GSE operations adhere to aviation safety regulations (e.g., IATA, ICAO) and local regulatory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety procedures and best practices, conducting periodic safety audits and inspections. Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near-misses involving ground support equipment. Inventory Control Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, spare parts, and consumables. Forecast requirements for parts and supplies, coordinating with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels. Manage vendor relationships for the purchase or lease of new equipment, spare parts, and services. Operational Coordination Collaborate with flight operations, ramp services, and other AO&CS teams to ensure GSE is deployed effectively during aircraft turnarounds. Communicate real-time updates regarding equipment availability or issues to minimize flight delays. Provide guidance to ground handling staff on the proper use and handling of equipment. Budget & Cost Control Assist in preparing and managing the GSE budget, monitoring expenses related to maintenance, repairs, and parts procurement. Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization without compromising safety or service quality. Reporting & Documentation Prepare regular performance reports on equipment uptime, maintenance schedules, and operational efficiency. Maintain all required documentation, including equipment logs, compliance certificates, and maintenance records. Present findings and recommendations for process improvements to management. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to enhance GSE processes, reduce downtime, and improve overall operational efficiency. Stay informed of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in ground operations. Participate in training programs to update skills and knowledge related to ground support equipment.
