Job Description


We are seeking an experienced SDL to lead our credit control function and ensure that our organization's receivables are collected efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing credit policies and procedures, managing a team of credit control professionals, and working closely with other departments to minimize credit risk.

What will your essential responsibilities include

  • Implement credit policies and procedures that align with the organization's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage the credit control team, providing coaching, training, and support to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Oversee the credit assessment process, ensuring that credit limits are set appropriately and that customers are regularly reviewed for creditworthiness.
  • Work closely with account management teams to resolve customer credit issues and to develop strategies for managing high-risk accounts.
  • Develop and implement collections strategies to minimize the risk of bad debt and to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Provide regular reporting on credit and collections performance to senior management.
  • Work collaboratively with various business units to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Drive operational excellence and best practices within the function, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of managed services team, reporting on key performance indicators to relevant stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and drive a culture of governance and risk management within the function.
  • Ensuring good relations and dialogue between various managed services locations and handling escalation issues. Help develop a culture of "One ESS Team".
  • Maintain high standards of performance & be a sponsor of change.You will report to Head of Managed Services.Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Relevant years of experience, preferably in the (re)insurance industry, with expertise in operations management, process management, and working in a matrix structure.
  • Proven experience in a credit control or credit risk management role.
  • Effective leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an effective understanding of credit risk assessment and management.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices related to credit control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A track record of driving operational efficiencies in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to think beyond direct responsibility and consider broader implications on downstream processes.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with a focus on developing and empowering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field. Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent focus on collaboration, team building and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work self-directedly, use influencing skills to drive desired outcomes within the defined timelines.
