Job Description
The Program and Partnership Manager will oversee and manage the Cane and Bamboo Value Chain development program, ensuring the successful execution of the project in collaboration with the Northeast Cane and Bamboo Development Council (NECBDC). The role will focus on developing and upgrading/innovating the bamboo value chain, innovating energy efficient technologies, fostering strategic partnerships for market linkages, product design/development and integrating renewable energy solutions into the bamboo value chain. The Manager will be responsible for both the day-to-day management of the program and maintaining a strong partnership with NECBDC to drive sustainable, long-term impact in the region. The position also requires strong team management skills to lead, mentor, and coordinate a cross-functional team effectively.
B. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and management of the Cane and Bamboo Value Chain development program in collaboration with NECBDC.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for upgrading the bamboo value chain, in collaboration with NECBDC
- Manage the partnership with NECBDC, ensuring alignment in goals, responsibilities, and program implementation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for NECBDC and other key stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between all partners.
- Oversee the development of the bamboo value chain, focusing on product diversification, improved energy efficient processing technologies, and increased market access for value added products.
- Identify nodal points along the value chain for technology innovation, energy efficiency in machineries, integrate renewable energy solutions in bamboo processing to improve productivity, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices.
- Overseeing the implementation of skill development programs and capacity-building workshops.
- Regularly assess program progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, donors, and partners, documenting progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Build relationships with designers, marketing platforms, government agencies, NGOs, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to support the program s objectives and create opportunities for expansion.
- Manage the program budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet project objectives and milestones.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a dynamic, cross-functional team that includes program coordinators, field staff, designers, technical experts, and support personnel.
C. Key Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience anchoring similar projects, programs or partnerships in the design/ development sector/ equivalent sector
- Proven track record of managing strategic partnerships, with experience in cross-functional collaboration
- Strong understanding of the bamboo/cane sector and its design, market, economic, industrial, and ecological potential is desirable.
- Experience working with rural communities, and key stakeholders (government, NGOs, businesses).
- Strong program execution skills, with experience in planning,implemetation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects.
- Excellent partnership management capabilities, with the ability to foster collaboration and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in remote and challenging environments
