Executive, IQC (Incoming Quality Control)

Skills Requirement:

Technical Knowledge of VMM:

• Understanding the operation, setup, and programming of Vision Measuring Machines.
• Familiarity with different types of VMMs (2D and 3D) and their application in quality inspection.

Understanding of Quality Standards:

• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards (ISO, ASME, etc.).
• Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.

Measurement and Metrology Skills:

• Proficiency in using VMM software and interpreting data.
• Experience with other precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines).

Attention to Detail:

• A keen eye for spotting defects, dimensional discrepancies, and tolerances.
• Ability to analyze inspection data and report findings accurately.

Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:

• Ability to troubleshoot issues related to measurements or equipment.
• Identifying root causes for non-conforming parts and suggesting corrective actions.

Basic Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes:

• Understanding how various manufacturing techniques (machining, casting, etc.) influence the dimensions and tolerances of parts.

Computer and Data Analysis Skills:

• Proficiency in using inspection software and other data management systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to report inspection data and trends.

Communication Skills:

• Ability to collaborate with engineers, production teams, and suppliers.
• Writing clear, concise inspection reports.

Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC):

• Knowledge of statistical techniques to monitor and control manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality.

Safety and Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Measurement:

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of incoming parts using VMM.
• Verify that components conform to technical drawings, specifications, and tolerance limits.
• Use other precision measurement instruments when necessary.

Data Recording and Reporting:

• Record measurement data and inspection results accurately in the companys quality management system.
• Prepare and distribute inspection reports to relevant departments

.

Compliance to Standards:

• Ensure that all inspected components adhere to industry standards such as ISO, ASME, or company-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues.

Maintenance of Equipment:

• Ensure that the equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions to the maintenance department.

Collaborating with Other Departments:

• Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to address any quality concerns.
• Participate in problem-solving sessions for defective parts or materials.

Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the inspection process by suggesting new methods or equipment that can enhance the efficiency and accuracy of inspections.
• Assist in updating inspection procedures and work instructions as needed.

Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations:

• Follow all workplace safety guidelines and ensure the safe operation of all equipment.
