SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Domain 1 - Planning and Preparation
The teacher is expected to:
Demonstrate effective use of available materials and resources, including digital literacy where applicable.
Demonstrate implementation of varied instructional models and assessment methods to optimise learning.
Develop plans to meet the varied needs of a diverse student population.
Be empathetic, patient, interested and genuinely concerned and caring for students.
Domain 2 - Teaching, Learning and Assessing
Use a range and balance of teaching strategies, including inquiry and real-life investigations.
Tailor teaching strategies to address the needs of all students, taking into account different stages of development and learning styles.
Address the needs of students who are not yet proficient in the language of instruction.
Encourage students to take action, which promotes care and concern for the welfare of others and the environment.
Provide students with regular opportunities for reflection as a part of the learning and assessment process.
Use a range of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.
Provide students with regular and prompt feedback to support and improve their learning.
Domain 3 Learning Environment
Create a safe and stimulating learning environment based on understanding and respect.
Manage procedures and routines so that students are engaged and learning time is maximised
Manage student behaviour in ways that enhance the overall learning environment and respect student dignity.
Domain 4 Professional Responsibilities
Support community-related activities in the promotion of the life of the school.
Provide support for other activities as deemed appropriate by the Head of School within the scope of responsibilities as a teacher.
Any other duties that may, from time to time, reasonably be required within the general level of responsibility of the post.
