About the role - you will:
Be responsible for investigating hardware technologies in storing data efficiently, which create data in new frontiers in Edge Analytics, Mass Capacity Storage.
Potentially explore new mechanisms in electronic hardware modeling and realization for these areas.
Design, assembly, oversee fabrication, testing, validation and documentation in for HW development using upcoming technologies such as computational storage securely.
Assist and generate new ideas and conceptualize them and with the help of senior architects and junior engineers in the team, contribute in the development of sought after architectures towards building proofs of concepts.
Make use of scientific knowledge and formal systems to find practical solutions to daily problems. Consists of working with direct complex operations geared toward gaining efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
Be responsible for the development of hardware designs on boards primarily targeted at FPGA platforms for electronics subsystems developed at SRG.
Support development of new feature /functionality/customer issues.
Work on printed circuit board digital and analog circuit design.
Create schematic symbols, component geometries and electronic components utilizing Mentor Graphics PADS or similar software.
Create drawings, Gerber files and other documentation for PCB fabrication, assembly, and internal verification.
Work with design team to identify test failure root cause, implement, and verify corrective actions.
Contribute in enhancement of performance and stability.
Evaluate alternative approaches to assist in developing solutions.
Collaborate with other development teams to ensure full integration of all parts of the system.
Drive electronics hardware engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
Perform operational test and fault isolation on electronic sub-systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test suites. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
Actively design prototypes of electronic subsystems using FPGAs. Necessary knowledge of associated firmware development, troubleshooting, RTL development and pre-silicon and post silicon debugging, system bring up and board diagnostics.
Involvement may begin at any step from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
Document current and future storage architectures for different applications.
Be responsible for the development of RTL primarily targeted at FPGA platforms for electronics subsystems developed at SRG.
Support development of new feature /functionality/customer issues.
Co-contribute to RTL development, bug fixing and improvement of Storage based products.
Perform operational test and fault isolation on electronic sub-systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test suites. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
Provide research intelligence for future Seagate products or create reference architectures.
Work with subject matter experts at all Seagate (worldwide) sites.
Create internal and external research papers and work with your affiliated school to bring academic research in these areas for applications in storage industry.

Your experience includes:
Experience in board bring up, hardware engineering and testing post.
Good in RTL, C and C++ programming, debugging and working knowledge of Unix-based Operating Systems.
Experience in System design. Strong exposure to FPGAs and the relevant RTL to FPGA netlist flow is needed.
Knowledge of processor architecture(ARM, RISC-V) is added plus.
