1. Educational qualification required: Graduation is a must, and post-graduation is preferred. Certification in medical coding from AHIMA or AAPC is a must to apply for this position.
2. Work Location: Work from Office ONLY. Candidates wanting to work from home or in hybrid mode need not apply.
3. Prior experience/skillsets required:
a. A minimum of 10 years of working experience for a US-based medical coding company.
b. Prior experience in handling a team size of at least 100 people.
c. Hands-on experience in medical coding is a must.
d. Multi-specialty E&M, ED, Outpatient, and Inpatient.
e. Profee and facility coding experience is required.
f. HCC coding experience is preferred.
g. Ability to prepare provider feedback reports.
h. Prior experience interacting with US clients directly.
i. Excellent spoken and written English skills.
j. Data analysis and ROI presentation capabilities.
4. Roles and responsibilities:
a. Strategic Leadership & Operations Management
• Oversee the entire medical coding department, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for coding compliance. Leader in Virtual Medical Office Solutions
• Ensure alignment of coding operations with organizational goals and industry standards.
b. Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure adherence to ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and other coding guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare policies.
• Monitor and enforce quality assurance measures to minimize coding errors and improve accuracy.
c. Team Management, hiring, & Training
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of coding staff.
• Conduct training programs to keep coders updated on new guidelines and industry changes.
• Resolve escalations related to coding discrepancies and provider queries.
• Hire or groom and build an efficient team.
d. Process Optimization & Productivity Enhancement
• Identify and implement workflow improvements to increase coding efficiency.
• Utilize data analytics to track performance metrics and optimize revenue cycle management.
• Collaborate with IT teams for system enhancements related to coding operations.
e. Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
• Coordinate with physicians, auditors, POCs, and billing teams to ensure accurate claim submissions.
• Work closely with HR for hiring and training new coders.
• Provide regular reports and insights to senior management regarding coding performance and compliance issues.
f. Revenue Cycle Management & Audits
• Ensure accurate coding to maximize reimbursements and minimize denials.
• Conduct internal audits and address discrepancies to prevent financial losses.
• Stay updated on payer policies and coding regulations to mitigate compliance risks.
