Sasmira s Institute of Design and Textiles (SIDT) is one of the leading design institutes in Mumbai. On 1st August 2022, The Synthetic & Art Silk Mills Research Association SASMIRA entered a new and exhilarating chapter of our continuing evolution and expansion, as we became Sasmira s Institute of Design & Textiles (SIDT) from Sasmira s Education & Training Program (SETP), integrating together, for the first time, design education and training programs that include not only fashion & textiles but also various additional streams of design education. This latest progression of our Institute continues a story that began in 1950, 72 years after the founding of SASMIRA, which started as a co-operative textile research organisation, by the doyens of man-made textile industry of India. We are very excited at the enhanced opportunities for our students under our newly organized Institute, with the common mission across all our programs, to deliver the utmost quality in our full time - graduate, diploma and postgraduate diploma education, and part time, specialized skill development training programs. Our programs are Training Tomorrow s Design Leaders Today by preparing our students to make significant contributions to the domain of fashion, textiles & merchandising, and engage in its application to upgrade the design industry. Students will find various industry oriented programs, supported by an outstanding and dedicated faculty pool as well as infrastructure, to help you reach the next stage of your career development and prepare you for your future vocations as an outstanding design professional.
