Junior Metallurgist

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Metallurgist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of raw materials and alloys used in aerospace applications, ensuring they meet rigorous quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes for alloys. Processes include, melting and heat treatment.
• Use metallurgy skills to implement, innovate and manage the manufacturing process of Metals.
• Collaborate with the quality team to ensure all materials meet aerospace industry standards and customer specifications.
• Assist in investigating material failures, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, including test results, process evaluations, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and R&D teams to support new product development and resolve technical challenges.
• Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends in metallurgy and aerospace materials.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Education:

• BE / B.Tech / BSC degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Chemistry Field.

Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of metallic materials, alloys, and their properties.
• Familiarity with metallurgical methods and equipment.
• Knowledge of heat treatment processes is a plus.

Work Experience:

• 1-2 years experience working with aerospace materials such as nickel, cobalt, aluminium, and special alloys is preferred.
• Prior internship or academic project experience in metallurgy or aerospace materials is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Freshers with good knowledge can be considered.
