Assistant Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Employee Relations:
• Managing employee grievances and disputes
• Addressing disciplinary issues
• Maintaining positive employee morale and engagement
• Facilitating communication between management and employees
• Union negotiations and relationship management (if applicable)
• Recruitment and Selection:
• Identifying and sourcing qualified candidates for plant operations
• Conducting interviews and assessments
• Onboarding new employees
• Performance Management:
• Implementing performance appraisal systems
• Providing feedback and coaching to employees
• Identifying and addressing performance issues
• Training and Development:
• Developing and delivering training programs for plant employees
• Identifying training needs based on operational requirements
• Succession planning and talent development
• Compliance and Legal Matters:
• Ensuring adherence to labor laws and regulations
• Managing worker's compensation claims
• Maintaining employee records and documentation
• Compensation and Benefits:
• Administering payroll and benefits programs
• Analyzing compensation trends and making recommendations
• Safety and Welfare:
• Promoting workplace safety initiatives
• Managing employee wellness programs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in industrial relations and HR management within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Conflict resolution and negotiation abilities
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in HR management systems (HRIS)
• Ability to work effectively with different levels of management and employees

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Master's degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations (preferred)
• Experience:
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing plant environment
• Proven track record in managing employee relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations
• Experience with recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning in a plant setting
• Knowledge of labor laws and regulations, including compliance management
