Assistant Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Manage daily operation activities (Order and customer management) and work procedures.
• Provide quotations as requested by a direct inquiry from customers.
• Efficiently handle customers complaints & requirements and recommend corrective action plans.
• Overseeing operations related with custom clearance, freight forwarding and negotiations
• Interacting and monitoring custom clearance, Shipping Line and Overseas Agent.
• Build and maintain close relationship with customers, operations, sales, and accounts department.
• Monitoring shipments status on carrier web site and updating the milestones to customer.
• Ensure shipment requirements are met and jobs are completed within the prescribed KPI limits.
• Supervise work of all team members and provide appropriate training as needed to ensure achievement of all set goals.
• Set expectations on task completion and ensure tasks are completed prior to set deadlines and evaluate performance.
• Validate delivery of export documents are timely and accurate first time.
• Responsible for correct and timely provision of all freight documentation to customers.
• Developing new vendors, building vendor relationships, and managing processes with vendors.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree/Post graduate diploma/MBA
• At least 5 years of experience in forwarding operation and 2 years in supervisory position.
• Result oriented, pro-active and possess a positive work attitude.
• Preferably Supervisor or Senior Executive specialized in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Customs/ Shipping line / Airlines.
• Knowledge of Air / Ocean Freight & Contract Logistics will be a definite advantage.
• Knowledge of sales.
• Understand diversity and working with different cultures.
• Able to handle staff and handle branch Independent.
• Able to work in an agile in a fast-paced working environment. Must be a strong teamplayer, hardworking, work on demand & hand-on.

Qualification: - Bachelors degree/Post graduate diploma/MBA.
