Unique Job Role - Chief - Dyeing

Job Purpose:
The role of Chief - Dyeing is responsible for the overall dyeing plant operation and control of all dyeing functional departments and to ensure that production output meets set quality and forecast requirements. To organize and control all production within the dyeing plant to achieve all output targets in terms of quantity, quality, yield, wastage, unit costs, and in accordance with parameters desired, health, safety and hygiene standards.

Job Requirements

Education & Relevant - Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering/Textile Technology. Experience - 12-15 years of relevant industry experience.


Roles & Responsibilities:
Oversee all dyeing and finishing operations, including dye selection, batching, and color matching.
Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer orders and quality standards.
Ensure that dyed products meet the required color consistency, fastness, and quality specifications.
Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections throughout the dyeing process.
Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including human resources, dyeing equipment, chemicals, and raw materials.
Develop and maintain dyeing recipes for different textile materials, ensuring consistent and accurate coloration.
Monitor dye usage and make adjustments as needed to minimize waste.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure dyeing machines are well-maintained and serviced regularly.
Develop and manage the dyeing department's budget, ensuring expenses are within budgetary constraints.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including those related to chemical handling and workplace safety.
Provide leadership and guidance to the dyeing team, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Maintain records of dyeing recipes, quality control data, and production reports.
Prepare regular reports for management on production performance and quality metrics.
Collaborate with the production planning, design, and quality control departments to ensure dyeing requirements are met.
Evaluate and implement new dyeing technologies or process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Maintaining the chemical inventory and forecasting requirement and consumption of the chemicals.
Implementing Quality Management System and ensuring adherence to the same.
Imparting continuous job training and motivation to the workforce for enhancing their productivity & operational efficiencies through knowledge enhancement / skill building.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development among personnel involved in dyeing.
