Ruby On Rails Developer

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team and take ownership of designing and developing the server-side logic for our web applications. With over 5 years of experience, you will play a key role in building robust, scalable back-end systems and troubleshooting complex issues, while collaborating with front-end teams to create a seamless user experience.

As a Senior Developer, you will lead by example, ensuring that our systems run smoothly, maintain high performance, and meet business requirements. Your expertise will be critical in shaping our backend infrastructure and optimizing the performance of our applications.

• Design, develop, and operate high scale applications across the full engineering stack
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
• Apply modern software development practices (serverless computing, microservices architecture, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, etc.)
• Work across teams to integrate our systems with existing internal systems, Data Fabric, CSA Toolset.
• Participate in technology roadmap and architecture discussions to turn business requirements and vision into reality.
• Participate in a tight-knit, globally distributed engineering team.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on network, or service operations and quality.
• Manage sole project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Research, create, and develop software applications to extend and improve on project Solutions
• Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to data and information.
• Actively participate in Sprint planning, Sprint Retrospectives, and other team activity

Preferred candidate profile

• 5+ years in software development
• 3+ years of experience in the Ruby on Rails ecosystem
• Experience with Rails 5+
• Experience with Ruby 3.2
• Experience with relational databases
• Experience working with JSON, REST, XML-RPC, CSS, Ajax, jQuery and Javascript
• Experience with writing SQL
• Experience with Git
• Experience with automated testing
• Knowledge of react
• BS in Computer Science (or related field) OR impressive experience
• AWS or GCP Cloud experience
